Home > Speaker Kits > RECORDING STUDIO Monitors

Our range of passive and active Studio Monitors include Near Field Monitors, Mid Field Monitors and Main Monitors all using the highest quality drive units and crossover components to ensure accurate sound reproduction.

Near Field Monitors are designed for use in a position close to the engineer or producer. Good positioning and support are needed to obtain optimum performance, as room acoustics will have a very minimal effect on the overall performance.

Mid Field Monitors are generally used in rooms where the sound pressure level needs to be higher than with Near Field Monitors. Mid Field Monitors are popular with mastering and post-production facilities. They are usually free standing and are the most compatible with high quality end user Hi-Fi.

Main Monitors are usually the largest pair of monitors in the mixing/mastering room. Many older studios use to have PA quality loudspeakers as their main monitors, which often had harsh, aggressive sound that became uncomfortable to listen to after long periods of time making the mixing very difficult, but now it is more accepted that purpose built studio quality speakers give better results especially when mixing intricate passages of music.

Many of our speakers can be supplied complete with active amplifiers, please contact us to discuss the available options.
